Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) eLearning course

Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) is an international initiative that provides advice to editors and publishers on all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct.

COPE has developed an eLearning course which is available to its paid members. The course is designed for editors and publishers who want to improve their understanding on publication ethics and to provide the tools and knowledge needed to address the many issues they face when editing a journal.

There are eight modules in the course, with the introductory module freely available to all users. Modules cover topics of plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, reviewer misconduct, conflict of interest, authorship, and corrections, retractions and expressions of concern. Each module includes case studies and questions, and some also include audio or video podcasts.
