Meta-analysis of diagnostic accuracy data

This is a recorded video slidecast presentation by Hans Reitsma, a member of DTA Editorial Team of Cochrane Netherlands, delivered at a two-day workshop hosted by Cochrane Netherlands.

Meta-analyses in DTA reviews are more complex than in the intervention reviews and require some specific considerations. This presentation discusses the nature of outcome measures in DTA studies, descriptive analytical options, and statistical models used in the DTA reviews. Finally, information on using  RevMan for statistical analyses in DTA reviews is provided.

Please note you will need to have Microsoft Silverlight installed in order to play the presentations.

After using this resource, you should be able to...
  • Discuss the purpose of descriptive analysis and statistical models in DTA reviews
  • Recognize how forest plots and ROC plots can be used to describe the results of studies included in a DTA review
  • Consider sources of variation between studies included in a DTA review
