Duration:
60 minutes
Agenda:
Review authors frequently include variants of randomised trials such as crossover, cluster, factorial and multi-arm trials. The lecture will cover issues that arise in the analysis of these designs, the ramifications for meta-analysis, and discuss the biases particular to these designs. The lecture will cover content in Chapter 23 of the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions (training.cochrane.org/handbook/current/chapter-23). In the workshop, we will illustrate methods that can be used to rectify problems in the analysis of variants of randomised trials so that results can be appropriately included in a meta-analysis. Worked examples will be used to illustrate these methods and risk of bias issues.
