Reporting Guidelines for Equity-Focused Systematic Reviews: PRISMA-E 2012

This is a recording of the Cochrane Canada Webinar with Jennifer O’Neill and Vivian Welch from the Campbell and Cochrane Equity Methods Group, on reporting guidelines for systematic reviews with an equity focus.

Systematic reviews with an equity focus are those with interventions that target disadvantaged populations, are aimed at reducing social gradients across populations, or are likely to have important effects on equity. This webinar presents the equity-extension checklist (PRISMA-E 2012) for reporting systematic reviews. Examples are provided to illustrate how PRISMA-E 2012 checklist can be applied to systematic reviews.

After using this resource, you should be able to...
  • Understand why and how the PRISMA-E 2012 was developed
  • Recognize the items in the PRISMA-E 2012 checklist
  • Consider using the PRISMA-E 2012 checklist in your systematic review
