Safeguarding trust in evidence: the Individual Participant Data Integrity Tool
Duration:
60 minutes
60 minutes
Agenda:
Concerns about the trustworthiness of research are increasing, making it essential to conduct integrity checks on trials before including them in evidence synthesis. Scrutinising a trial’s individual participant data (IPD, i.e. raw row-by-row data) enables more comprehensive integrity checks compared to aggregate or published data and can considerably increase detection of trustworthiness issues.
In the absence of relevant guidance, the presenters developed the IPD Integrity Tool.
This Learning Live webinar will:-
• Introduce the IPD Integrity Tool and its key components
• Demonstrate how the tool can be applied by evidence synthesists to assess whether a trial is sufficiently trustworthy to contribute to the evidence base that informs guidelines and practice
• Allow for discussion, questions and comments
• Consider future directions
