Introducing Knowledge Translation in Cochrane

Trusted evidence. Informed decisions. Better health.

Cochrane defines knowledge translation (KT) as the process of supporting the use of health evidence from our high quality, trusted Cochrane Reviews by those who need it to make health decisions. We have developed an online resource to help explain what we mean by ‘knowledge translation’ in Cochrane.

You can open the module below. It is aimed at anyone working within Cochrane, is free to use with a Cochrane account (free to sign up) and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

  • If you're interested in exploring the literature on KT more generally, this freely available article on Knowledge Translation of research findings (Grimshaw et al 2012) is an excellent starting point. For a more detailed expansion of your KT knowledge, there are repositories of KT methods and tools such as this one maintained by the National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools in Canada.
